Development of information system for automatic seismic hazard assessment after large earthquakes based on geophysical monitoring.

The project is directed onto solving the scientific problem of evaluating seismic danger with the goal of diminishing the consequences of catastrophes that occur due to repeated and strong earthquakes.

Project task — developing an information system for automated forecasting of seismic danger after strong earthquakes. The scale of the problem is explained by that the information system, as offered, will be established in centers of geophysics monitoring in Geophysical Survey of RAS and will be used for producing recommendations in operational mode after strong earthquakes for local and competent authorities about the areas, waiting time and the size of possible destructive aftershocks.
